Asher's Evolution

It is so hard to believe that we attended Asher's FIFTH birthday earlier this month. I almost had a breakdown buying clothes for him because they were way too big. It seems like just yesterday that I was following him down the hallway as he crawled to the back bedroom to show me a hat. It was his very first word and he whispered it when he said it. My how things have changed! He is such a grownup now, being a big brother, going to school full time and continuing to be too smart for his own good.

We all had fun celebrating him. He chose to have a Pokemon party this year because ever since Uncle's visit this summer, he's been hooked on those little things. He knows most of their names and can tell you which ones evolve into what. Lucky for him, he got plenty of Pokemon-themed presents, as well as lots of other goodies.

Happy birthday, Asher! We've had such a fun time loving you and learning from you these past five years.

Like every year, Asher had quite the audience!

Quinn has finally warmed up to Uncle Kyle. She used to cry when he would look at her, but they did plenty of bonding this weekend.

 Hugs from the birthday boy!

It was a beautiful weekend, so we moved the party outside and Asher showed us his horse swing.

We had a great time until Uncle Kyle pushed him too hard and he fell off. Luckily, in true Cowboy fashion, he recovered pretty quickly.

Ty and Lisa were able to come, so we got together at Mom and Dad's before Asher's party so Dad could open his gifts.

We face-timed Zach so he could be in on the fun. It was looking like these boots may be Dad's best gift, but shortly after the opening was finished, Ty and Lisa announced they are pregnant! That blew the rest of the gifts out of the water. We can't wait to welcome their little bundle into the family in April.

We also took a stroll down memory lane, looking at old scrapbooks from when the boys were little and Dad had no gray hair. :)

I told you they are BFFs now.

But she may love her Grandpa just a little bit more.

Quinn was quite taken with Oliver. She was such a brave girl and even worked up the courage to give him lots of love pats. So far, she's showing up Asher in the dog department.

 Love her!

Somehow we always end up in orange. Go Pokes!
