Thoughts on January

Well, it's officially the end of January. It feels like time is whizzing by and yet somehow this month also seemed long. Don't ask me how that could happen because at the moment I am spent. I am about to be out of the office for a while, so work has been a little crazy lately. Projects I've been working on for months are starting to enter their final stages. It's exciting, but I feel like I have too many balls in the air to worry about things like patience and actually listening to my coworkers without my brain getting side tracked. You know, just the common courtesies that make you a decent person to be around. :) Just a few more weeks, and I will be back to my normal self. Outside of work, it's been a month mixed with fun, exercise and relaxation. I will post about our trips to Hennessey and Rose Hill soon, but for now, we'll focus on everything else. One of the best Christmas presents I got this year came from my best friend's husband, Trey. He may no

Another year in the books!

We rang in the new year with friends. Kyle was certain he wouldn't make it to midnight, but thanks to our relentless efforts to entertain him, we were able to share a New Year's kiss before leaving the party at exactly 12:05.  Us poor girls had to put up with these silly guys all night! Fortunately for me, I have this little thing you call a blog, which documents life so I don't have to remember. So last weekend I started thinking about the memorable moments of 2014 and looking back at old posts. I found that 2014 was a year full of new things. Here are some of my favorites. 1. I gained three nieces and, just like that, the niece/nephew count evened out. Quinn Perrie Morgan Joann Ella Dawn 2. We adopted Oliver and became

Jump for Joy - Henry's 3

The weekend after Christmas, we headed to Wichita for Henry's birthday party. It always sneaks up on us since it's so close to the holidays. Well, for that reason and because it's hard to believe another year has passed. I remember setting up for his very first birthday party, and that seems like just yesterday. What I will remember most about Henry this year is his never-ending energy and high-pitched squeal! Whether he's running all over the house or driving his four wheeler all over the yard, that boy is always going. He gets so excited while he's playing that he just can't contain himself, so he lets out an ear-piercing squeal. Oh to have that kind of joy (and lung capacity)! It isn't always the best timing with a sleeping little sister in the house, but fortunately, his birthday party provided lots of opportunities for running wild and squealing to his heart's content. We celebrated at Jump Jump Land, which was this really cool inflatable place
