The Grateful Dead

Well I've tried to keep you somewhat up-to-date on my new year's resolution to record 365 things I'm grateful for in 2013. Well, it's not going that well. I started out strong, but May was my last entry! There's nothing like vacation and summer to get you out of your routine. Maybe I'll make an effort to pick it back up next week, or maybe I won't. Right now I'm feeling a little bit like this: Some resolutions are meat to be broken. Hopefully this one will just be altered a bit and rather than 365 things, it may be closer to 200 and something. Life's all about being flexible, right?  For the long weekend, Kyle and I are so excited to be going to Wichita to visit the Fox family. It should be a great weekend with the first OSU game, hugs from nephews and a little relaxation. I can't wait!

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind, but they have reminded me more than anything how wonderfully full my life is. Full of love from a growing family, full of answered prayers, full of fun with friends and full of challenges that stretch me as a person. I am so thankful for this time in our lives but sometimes I feel like it’s flashing before our eyes. That’s why I’m so glad I have this blog so I can remember great times like these:   A little shark week mirth at work. Thanks, Meredith!   These boys just can't get close enough to the TV. Asher wanted to watch Wild America Predator vs. Prey but when Mom went to put it in he said, "We better not watch this one, it might be scary for Aunt Abby." So we went with Great Escapes because "all of the animals get away in this one."   Asher loves taking pictures outside of Grandpa John's house.   Celebrating Mom's birthday! We changed things up this year and met in OKC at BJ'

Turning Two...Toy Story Style

I cannot believe it has already come and gone, but Conner celebrated his second birthday on Monday. What a blessing he has been to the whole family with his big smiles, ornery little attitude and sweet cuddles! It has been so much fun watching him grow up.  So we were excited to go to Ponca on Sunday to celebrate with the family. We got to spend pretty much the whole day there, which we haven't done in FOREVER. That town always reminds me of our dating days. Ah memories. But back to the point. Conner had a Toy Story party and Jerilyn did a great job planning it. I think my favorite part was the soldier-topped cup cakes. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. I think the hardest part for Conner was opening a gift and then not getting to play with it before moving on to the next one, but he did a great job. At the end of the day, we watched a slideshow with pictures from Conner's second year. It was great. He was glued to it the entire time and when we turned the

July was a busy month of hosting for us. On several different weekends we had visitors over, which was a lot of fun. We had a great time playing with nephews, but Kyle's favorite part was showing everyone the dash cam video of his Texas Motor Speedway ride. :)  Can you tell Henry LOVES balls!   So much so that he won't hold still for a picture!  He loved Uncle Kyle's video, too.   Henry had a long day and was in a trance by the end of it.   Night, night, Uncle Kyle! Kyle's parents and Josh and Stacy paid us a visit, too. One of Asher's favorite toys.
