Milestones

Not this weekend but last weekend, we headed to Wichita to celebrate the births of Greg (34) and Stacie (30). They both have August birthdays and for several years have had a joint birthday party to celebrate. You may remember last year when they announced they were having a bouncing little boy!

This year there was no such announcement, but Kyle and I were still eager to get there. In the weeks leading up to the party, our nephews had reached some pretty exciting milestones. Henry stated crawling and Conner took his first steps! Very exciting stuff! We were definitely eager to see it in person. However, we didn't get to see much that night because Kyle had to work until 5 p.m. and then as we were pulling into Mulvane, he got pulled over, delaying us even further. Did I mention his brother Greg is a cop and we saw that officer later at the party? Fun times! Anyway, by the time we got there Conner was about to leave and Stacie was putting Henry to bed.

Luckily, we stayed the night and got to see both of those cuties the next day. Henry did show off his army crawl, but Conner likes to keep us waiting. He did everything but walk on two feet. That little stinker! I'm sure by the next time we see him, he'll be walking all over the place.

Such hansom men! Kyle wore this shirt to the party last year and this year Greg asked him to bring it since Henry had a matching onesie. Too cute!

 Tired boy after his nap.

Kyle had fun playing on Conner's trampoline! I swear sometimes I think he's a 9-year-old trapped in a 28-year-old body! I love that he's so lighthearted, it balances out my crazy. Conner had fun playing on his swing set, too. He can crawl all the way up his slide, even though he only makes it halfway in this video:

Conner and Gracie had so much fun chasing Ben's car all over the backyard. We were trying to get him to walk, but he didn't fall for that trick. I guess I'll just have to settle for watching the video Jerilyn sent. I'm so thankful to get frequent updates from her so we can be there even when we aren't!
