Three and still truckin'

Time is going WAY too fast. We did double duty the weekend after Ella was born because we were also celebrating Conner's THIRD birthday. It seems like yesterday we were all marveling at this boy's chunky little cheeks and now he's starting preschool!

It was a construction-themed party because there's nothing this boy loves more than trucks and trains. He got all kinds of goodies, and we had fun watching him tear into his presents and play with his cousins. Before the party was over, we all sat down to watch a slideshow of the past year. I am amazed at how much he's changed. Each time we see him he gets bigger and knows all kinds of new things. That's probably because he loves to figure out how things work. You can almost see the little wheels in his head turning as he's playing. It's so much fun to watch him.

Happy birthday, Conner! We are so glad to be a part of your life. Your smile and laugh could light up even the darkest of rooms. We love you to pieces!

 Such good playmates!

Henry got some Nana snuggles before the present opening began.

It was a packed house, and Conner had quite the audience. One gift scared the crap out of me. It was a paper/rubber band butterfly that had been wound up and put in a card, so when Conner opened it up, it flew out. He and Kyle were mesmerized! :)

Conner looks ready to "dig in"!

Kyle let the dog out and then called me, breathing heavy, to say, "Get out here quick!" I immediately thought Oliver was up to no good or having some kind of crisis. Then I realized, he had called me out there to watch him jump on the trampoline. SMH. He was in a lot of pain on the way home because he threw his back out doing it. This is a perfect example of why I tell people I'm either married to a 12-year-old or an 80-year-old man, depending on the day...or moment, I should say.

Conner's big gift was a train table, which he LOVED! It was hard to tear him away from it.

 The little conductor.
