10 years in the making...

I am one of those people who loved high school, and I've been looking forward to our reunion since pretty much the day after graduation. I think the reason I loved it so much was because we had a really great class. We all knew each other pretty well since there were only 56 of us and most had spent all 12 years together. We may not all have been best friends, but we had some great times together and share so many memories.

High school reunions can get kind of a bad rap. Almost everyone I knew who had attended their 10-year reunion said it was a bit of a let down for one reason or another. I was determined to enjoy mine. I helped a little bit with the planning but in the end, the thing that made our reunion fun was the people. Just over half of our class was able to make it to at least part of the festivities, and we had fun reminiscing and getting to know one another's spouses and kids. I am so glad I went, and I'm looking forward to the next one! If you are one of those people who is too cool to attend your reunion, I highly suggest you change your attitude. You're missing out on all the fun!

I loved meeting this little beauty and had fun catching up with her hilarious, fun momma.

We kicked things off with a pool party for the kids. Kyle was so jealous that he missed the bounce house!

Then Coach Cameron gave us a tour of the high school. It was so different! Only two teachers we had during high school are still there. They've also changed the entrance to the high school, moved the library, built new science labs, changed the band room into the girls weight lifting room, enclosed the patio by the lunch room and filled in the pits in the middle school (tear).

Then we headed to the Ranch Room, Hennessey's wine bar, to chat and look through photos. I had never been there and was pretty impressed by it.

Then it was off to the events center for dinner. This is the class of '04 ten years later!

 Those boys!

 Class BFFL's!

 A little photo booth fun.

We had classmates submit some of their favorite memories in advance. It was fun to read through them, especially the ones from classmates who weren't able to attend.

The reunion fun wrapped up in the wee morning hours on Sunday, so that left the rest of the day for a little niece/nephew time!

These two are so ornery together!

They even squeezed in a water balloon fight since the sweltering summer temps decided to make a comeback that weekend. Asher doesn't like getting wet, so he had planned to throw them at his toys. Kyle had other ideas, but Asher took it all in stride!

At the end of the day we were all tuckered out.

Poor Quinn gets absolutely NO attention from her grandparents whatsoever!
