Branson Fun

I have been begging Kyle to go on vacation ever since our San Antonio trip got canceled. He finally caved, and while it wasn't the week-long getaway I'd been dreaming of, I was willing to take whatever I could get. So we planned a long weekend trip to Branson and invited Tom and Krystal to come with us.

This trip was much different from the last trip we took to Branson because it was the height of tourism season. The town was full of people. I liked the change of pace, but Kyle was not thrilled with the traffic. We did have a great time, though (as long as we were outside of the car).

Optimus Prime was in Branson the same time we were, so of course the boys wanted to make that our first stop.

Next we were off to the go-carts! Can you tell I was excited? Or at least I was until I went to pass Kyle and he crashed into me, spinning me around. So. Not. Cool.

Since the boys picked out our morning stops, us girls decided we deserved a pedicure and massage while they went golfing. It was such a good decision.

As if Tom and Kyle didn't get enough golfing in, we decided to go for mini golf after dinner. Kyle won. As you can see, he took it very seriously, lining up each shot.

 Such a cute couple!

The next morning Kyle and I went exploring to find our engagement spot.

I tried to get him to kneel but he drew the line there.

Just like the first time, there was no one there to take our picture, but nowadays we have selfies.

After we got engaged, we each wrote down our version of the engagement story. I brought them along and we read each others. Oh the memories... :)

We even found the cabins we stayed in during that trip.

On the way home, we stumbled upon Top of the Rock, a place Kyle's new boss told him about. It was so beautiful.

This was Kyle's kind of place. As we were leaving, about 15 Corvettes were pulling in. Something tells me the next time we come, he'll want to play this course.

After lunch we decided to stop in on the segway place we kept passing on our way into town.

After a quick tutorial and review of the rules (no racing), we were ready to roll. Literally.

No photos were allowed during the ride, but it went pretty well. Except for that time Krystal went off the track into the trees, but let's not talk about that.

We got to sign the wall when we were done.

Then the boys went to the celebrity car museum while we did some shopping.

Then we met up for a little funnel cake and it started pouring outside.

It was pretty relaxing sitting on the patio watching the rain, but eventually we needed a change of scenery. We headed to the covered pool but unfortunately it was closed due to lightening.

So we resorted to more shopping. After checking out, Kyle and Krystal started the longest game in the history of checkers. It ended in a draw when Tom and I were hungry and tired of waiting.

After dinner we headed out to Table Rock Lake and the scenic lookout to catch the sunset.

The fog coming off the water looked so cool.

Kyle did a little creative photography here.

And that pretty much sums up the trip. We didn't take any photos on the way home, but I think we're all trying to forget that part. First there was a blowup about the long wait at Lambert's and then we got stuck behind a wreck for a hour and a half. On the plus side, we had a DVD player in the car and we were right beside a camper when Krystal needed a potty break. Isn't it great how God provides?! :)
