My Savior Lives

This Easter I was reminded yet again how wonderful God is. We are reading Jesus > Religion in our life group, and while the concept is not new to me, it's a wonderful reminder of who God really is once you strip all of the religious assumptions and obligations away. And the best part is how deeply He loves us as selfish and flawed as we all are. What news could be better than that?! So this Easter, we spent plenty of time thanking God for loving us and sending his Son to live a perfect life, die a brutal death and rise again so we could have new life.

We also got to spend a lot of time celebrating with our families. I had Good Friday off so I headed to Hennessey to color eggs with Quinn and Asher. On Saturday Asher participated in the egg hunt at Bull Foot Park like we used to do as kids. Then the extended Taylor family got together. It was so good to see everyone including Shane, Kelsey and Mirabelle who I hadn't seen since Christmas. Mirabelle is now talking up a storm and it's so adorable.

Asher did not like waiting, so most of the eggs were pastel colors. He LOVED eating the cracked ones, though.

Quinn had fun watching.

Off the the egg hunt.

Waiting patiently for the noon whistle. It was a nice day, but it was very windy.

They even got to meet the Easter bunny. Asher asked him to leave a black wolf in his Easter basket.

Mirabelle and Fenley were too young for the big egg hunt, so we had a mini indoor version.

These girls were so cute together. Fenley walked over the Mirabelle when she got there and gave her a big kiss. They had a little trouble sharing at first but the got the hang of it as the day went on.

On Sunday, we went to church here and then headed straight to Ponca for the Fox family celebration. It was a little cooler than I thought it would be so the Easter outfit I had all picked out wasn't going to work. So instead, I caved and told Kyle I would wear the T-shirt he bought for us. He was so excited to be Twinkies for the day.

Kyle saw these online and just HAD to order them. Next thing you know he'll be getting one for Oliver...

The boys got bubble machines and those provided hours of fun. We played outside before and after lunch. We even had a small egg hunt in the back yard before the sprinkles broke up our party. It was a great weekend!

Papa trying to figure out how to work them.

So we pause for a little photo op.

Aaaand they're off!

Oliver was out there for all the craziness, and he did SO well!

Now for the egg hunting portion of the afternoon...

Conner got right to it, collecting his eggs at a remarkable speed.

Henry was more interested in what kind of goodies were inside.

They were so busy checking out their loot that they had no time for photos.

This is as close as we got.

It's crazy to think next year little Ella Dawn will be here to join in on the fun! I can't wait!

Just enough time for a quick bike ride before a nap.
