We like, we like to party!

I have been looking forward to the first weekend in May for a long time, and I was so glad when it finally got here. Last weekend was a big one for us, and a LONG one for me! I took Friday off to shop with Mom and Stacy. We went to the Outlet Mall in OKC and found some really good deals. (Maybe a few too many good deals, but I’m worth it…right?)

On Saturday, Kyle also took off work a little early so he could be there to meet Ethan and Elijah for the very first time. My cousins, who live out of the country, adopted two boys several months ago. We’ve gotten pictures and updates, but this was the first chance the family had to meet them in person. It just so happened to be around their first birthdays as well! Ethan and Elijah are only about a week apart and shared a bed at the orphanage before finding their forever family. It was so good to see them and to get to spend some time with Jamey and Matt. We are so excited to have them home for a little while!

While we waited for the birthday boys, we took turns passing around Fenley who is growing up so fast! She is almost 4 months old.

Asher's face after he found out the boys were still on their way over so he'd have to wait to eat cake!

The birthday cuties! Ethan is in the orange and Elijah is in the blue.

Such good grandparents!

 Family picture, take one.

And take two. They were a little too fascinated with the balloons to worry about posing for a picture.

They weren't so sure at first, but they ended up loving their cake. Ethan was very neat, but Elijah made such a mess!

And finally Asher gets a piece of cake! Well, make that two - one vanilla and one chocolate. No wonder he was all over the place.

 You lookin' at me?

Elijah, Asher and Mirabelle had a good time playing together.

The boys had a good time opening presents. Elijah thought the tissue paper looked yummy and tried to eat it.

Kyle and I had to leave the party a little early so we could meet up with Tom and Krystal to celebrate her graduation from grad school. It was so much fun to see them again and to meet some of Krystal’s friends and family for the first time. Like most men, Kyle is usually not that involved in the selection of graduation gifts, but he was very particular about what we got Krystal. They’ve had a feud going on for quite some time now. He’s a Dallas Cowboys fan and she’s a Denver Broncos fan, let the smack-texting begin! So of course he wanted to give her something to cherish like a framed picture of Tony Romo. I think Krystal would agree that he REALLY shouldn’t have. I went along with it but was able to talk him down from the poster-size to a 5x7.

Sunday brought yet another celebration. This time we were celebrating Mom and everything she does for us EVERY SINGLE DAY. We will be with Kyle’s Mom on Mother’s Day this year, so my family celebrated a week early. It was great because Tyrus and Lisa had come down for the weekend, and I don’t think we’ve seen them since Christmas! We were missing Zach, but at least we got to talk to him that afternoon. I didn’t get any pictures of the gift giving, but Mom got some nice ones, including a new bike. Dad always has to show us kids up! :)

And finally, we ended a great weekend with a peaceful Cinco de Mayo dinner out on the patio.

That's pretty much it, so I will leave you with this video of Lisa and Asher drawing a goat. Have a good weekend!
