Moms and Babies

It looks like we are doing things a little out of order these days but oh well. We celebrated Mother's Day with my family the weekend before. It was the day after Zach's graduation, so we were a little worn out. It was great to see everyone, though and get to spend some time celebrating Mom. Stacy, Lisa and I cooked chicken and noodles for lunch. She does so much for us and it was nice to do something for her.

Pretty much every holiday or birthday Asher gets to open the gifts. That's a great perk of being the first grandchild. He is wearing a necklace in this picture. Mom lets him play with her jewelry and pretend they are snakes. That child is so spoiled! :)

For actual Mother's Day, we headed to Ponca to celebrate with Kyle's family. It was just us and Jerilyn's family, so we got to spend some quality time with Mom and Conner! We visited the grandparents, had a cookout and took Conner for a spin around the block in his stroller. It was fun getting to see the difference from last Mother's Day when Conner wasn't even here yet. Things change so fast.

 Mother's Day 2011

What a difference a year makes! Conner is now crawling all over the house, pulling up on things, has SEVERAL teeth, got his first haircut recently and loves baby food.

I thought this picture was just too cute! Kyle loves playing with Conner. They are both ornery as ever!

 Bath time!

I am sure that's how Shane and Kelsey will feel next Mother's Day when little Mirabelle Joy is about to celebrate her first birthday. Kelsey is due in July, and I went to her shower this past weekend.  I was so excited when I found out she was having a girl! She and Shane will be wonderful parents. They were really good sports at the shower, too. We played several games including guess that baby food (they both had to eat 7 different kinds of baby food) and, my favorite, how much weight have Mom and Dad gained during the pregnancy. These two games alone are very good reasons to put off having a child. :)

I didn't get a picture of Kelsey at the shower, so I borrowed this one from Michelle's Facebook page. Isn't Kelsey adorable? I lived with these girls the summer I was in Edmond and we had a great time. They are two lovely ladies!

This is part of the gift I made for Mirabelle. It's different than I planned, but I still think it turned out pretty well.
