Merry and Bright

Christmas came SUPER fast this year! All of the baby prep kind of distracted us. Before I knew it, Christmas parties were upon us. We had planned to celebrate Christmas with Kyle's family the weekend before. With work schedules and the baby coming, we opted to celebrate earlier, rather than later. Our plans would have worked out great had Kyle not come down with a stomach bug and sinus infection just a few days before. It was pretty rough, and he still isn't 100%, so we had to miss out on the celebration.

We got pictures from the day, though, and it looked like they had a great time. The kids, especially. There's nothing like watching kids on Christmas.

 Such pretty girls!

Each year, the stacks of presents are almost as tall as the kids!

And, of course, even the boxes are a hit!

Aunt Tasha got lots of lovin' it looks like.

We played the Saran Wrap ball last year so this year's game was similar with a bit of a twist. They added oven mitts to make things a little more interesting. :)

 Such a cutie!

Such a good photo of these guys!

Even though we had to miss out on all of the fun, we did get to enjoy the first snow of the season while staying warm and cozy inside. It wasn't much of a consolation, but it was better than nothing.

 34 weeks

Fortunately, it worked out so that we could travel to Ponca on Christmas Day. It was MUCH warmer this time around. Although we didn't get to see everyone, we still left with full bellies and full hearts. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing around the house. We watched a few movies and managed to squeeze in stroller assembly AND a game while we were at it. Talk about a Christmas miracle! :)

It was such a warm day that we were tempted to wear shorts, but that just didn't seem right on Christmas. Our first stop of the day was to see Grandma and Grandpa Fox. Oliver loves their house and laid right by Grandpa's chair for most of the time. We left just as the rain started and made it to Jerry and Patti's for a delicious lunch.

This girl looked awful pretty in her Christmas dress!

Per Conner's request, I sat at the kid table with him.

Amelia didn't think we needed this tablecloth after all the eating was done.

 Playing with brother's toys.

Conner had fun playing with the gift we got him. He was so sweet all day. From the second we got there, he was talking our ears off, showing us his gifts and telling us how much he loved Oliver and wanted him to come home with him.

I'm not sure he could live without Kyle, though.

I couldn't believe I finally talked Kyle into playing a game with me! He agreed because it didn't require him leaving the couch. I let him win so he'll agree to play with me every Christmas! :)

Oliver spent his evening playing with his toys. We'd given them to him first thing that morning. As he was opening, I was thinking of how much fun it will be next Christmas when we have a little one! Given how young he'll be, I am guessing his present unwrapping skills will rank right up there with Oliver's.
