Ballin' Out

Don't worry, I'm not referring to the Urban Dictionary's definition of ballin' out. (To spend exorbitant amounts of money. Usually within the confines of one ridiculously drunken evening.) I happen to be referring to one of the best birthday parties I've ever attended. Who knew turning two could be so much fun?!

The day after we celebrated Christmas with the Fox family, we had Henry's party. Since he's a New Year's Eve baby, it can get a little hectic trying to fit everything in, but Stacie always does a great job making the day special. The theme for this year's party was "having a BALL". Henry loves playing with balls and spots them everywhere he goes, even in the grocery store (avocados look like footballs to me, too, Henry!), so it was a perfect choice. Stacie had ball decorations and a ball-themed menu featuring the basketball birthday cake, but my absolute favorite part was the ball pit. They took an inflatable swimming pool and filled it with balls. Such a simple idea that was a HUGE hit with the kiddos. It was so much fun to see them come in and discover it. Then once everybody started jumping in, us adults just watched and laughed as they could hardly contain their excitement! Well, I say the adults, but I really mean the adults minus Kyle. There was far too much noise for him to be enjoying himself. I believe he was cowering by the kitchen trying not to go completely out of his mind, but the rest of us had a great time. :)

Henry got all kinds of toys - lots of trucks and cars. But the whole time he was opening, all he wanted to do was go back to the ball pit and play. So we snagged a picture of him with the cake and then let him run wild. This is such a fun age because every time we see him, he's learned new things. We love watching him grow. Happy birthday, Henry! You are such a sweet, expressive, hilarious little boy, and we know you will be a fabulous big brother!

Next year Henry will have a little sister or brother to celebrate with!

Oh, how I remember emerging from a ball pit with staticy hair....

Conner's laugh is so precious. We heard it a lot at the party!

And this is when things started to get a little crazy.

Everyone had gathered for presents, but Conner was having too much fun to notice.

Hurry up and take this picture, Aunt Abby!

I love his face in this one!

Henry sticks his tongue out all the time now. It's so cute.
