Go Kyle, it's your birthday!

Well I’m back after a bit of a break and there is just so much to share. We’ll start with Kyle’s 28th birthday, which we celebrated on Feb. 9. It’s so hard for me to believe that we’re approaching the end of our 20’s. Where does the time go?!

Kyle’s birthday was on a Saturday this year, which usually means he would be working, but he was able to take some time off. Although it was nice for him, I really felt like it was a present for me. I forget how good it feels to spend two consecutive days off work with your husband around! I might just be able to get used to that. We weren’t alone, though, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Greg, Stacie and Henry wanted to come down and celebrate with us, so they stayed the whole weekend and we had so much fun. They came Friday night and we got to watch Henry walk all over the house! It’s so hard to believe that the last time we saw them he couldn’t do that. He’s already so steady and speedy, too. After he went to bed, Greg and Kyle played Call of Duty for hours on end. You’d think after all of that they would get tired of it, but they were back at it the next night, too!

On Saturday, we went to OKC for a little shopping, but the REAL reason we went was so Kyle could eat at Outback Steakhouse on his birthday. He loves that place and always wants to go. While we were in the City, we went to Bass Pro Shops and the outlet mall, along with several other places. The only drawback was that it was cold and windy that day. Henry did a great job braving the elements and getting in-and-out of the car a jillion times. He was barely fussy at all! But that may have been because Kyle scared him out of it on the drive down there. Every time Henry would get frustrated, Kyle would turn around and say, “Now you cut that out!” Henry stopped and just stared at him for a long time. Before you knew it, he had forgotten about whatever it was that upset him in the first place. Now Kyle thinks he’s the baby whisperer or something!

Watching the fish at Bass Pro.

 Happy family.

Shopping for a Harley. I think this one really brings out his eyes.

On the way home. Can you tell he's had a stocking cap on all day?!

On Sunday Kyle’s parents came down and joined us. We hung out at the house while Kyle’s Dad installed our new garbage disposal (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU) and the women oohed and ahhed over Henry. Then we said goodbyes to the baby and headed out for a late lunch and more shopping with Kyle’s parents. Overall it was a great weekend and the birthday boy had lots of fun. It definitely reminded us that it’s good to shake the routine every now and then and do something special.

He has Nana and Papa wrapped around his little finger! :)

Playing a little football before heading back home.
