Dazed and Congested

After the Homecoming game, we showered and headed to Enid. Our dear friend Tom comes to visit us in Stillwater all the time. He’s even met us in Hennessey a few times. Yet, in the 7 months he’s lived in Enid, we’ve never even seen his house. It was time to rectify that. So we met up with him and went out to dinner at Callahan’s. Aside from the intoxicated, loud brunette at the next table, it was a great time. Even if Tom "forgot" his wallet at the house. :)

The next day we had planned to meet Josh, Stacy and Asher for lunch and then head to Covington for Daze in a Maze. Plans changed when Josh found a deal he couldn’t resist on a ‘50s Coke machine. So the boys were off to Oklahoma City. When they got back, Kyle wasn’t feeling well and decided he needed to go to the minor emergency clinic for a sinus infection. It didn’t even occur to me to go with him. What kind of a wife am I! Luckily he made it OK and after about three and a half hours and two shots, he was back and feeling great.

So Stacy, Asher and I Skyped Zach. Asher modeled his military outfit for him (he had been playing “Uncle” all morning long) and then proceeded to cover his face in heart-shaped post-its. It was pretty cute. Then we were off to the coolest corn maze I’ve ever been to. Ok, so maybe it's the only corn maze I've ever been to, but who knew you could have so much fun in Covington?! Aside from the unseasonably warm temps., we really enjoyed ourselves. Asher loved every minute, except for the sneezing donkey. I don’t blame him, that animal was disgusting.

When we got home, Mom and Dad were back from their weekend trip to Branson. The plan was to carve pumpkins, but we didn’t actually do that. It just wouldn’t have been the same without Zach complaining about how long it takes to do a super complicated design. Maybe we’ll have to do that on Christmas Eve to make up for it!  :)

This was just after the donkey sneezed all over Asher. He didn't care to pet any animals after that. They had ponies, goats (that were trying to excape), a rabbit, chickens and some ducks. Stacy told Asher to look at that baby chick in with the ducks and he said, "Mommy, I think that's a duckling, not a chick." How could she have made such a horrific mistake?

This was the toddler hay maze that Asher loved. He walked through it and would shout "dead end."

Asher had so much fun on the playground. The big tired were the goat's cage and the slide was a cow shoot. That boy is obsessed with animals!

 Ready for the hay ride!

Checking out the Dino Dig. You can probably tell for his little red ears, but it was about 90 degrees outside so we got hot. I think Asher drank an entire bottle of water by himself.

Back in Hennessey checking out Grandpa's new 4 wheeler. Asher loves it.

Mom and Dad brought Asher back a present from Branson. He LOVED it!

Well I guess that does it for now. This week has reminded me how lucky I am to have such wonderful friends and family in my life. When things get busy, it’s easy to take them for granted, but at the end of the day, they’re what makes life sweet.
