Thankful for health

We spent yet another weekend hanging around the house because Kyle is getting over his second stomach bug. Between that and sinus infections it's been a rough fall for us. If anything, it has made me so grateful for the health we usually have. I always found it a little strange when people would say they were thankful for their health. Sure that was great and all but on my list of things to be thankful for, it was never near the top. That's because I took it for granted. As I get older I realize what a blessing it truly is and just how many people struggle with illness.

So since Kyle is down for the count, I though I would take this opportunity to get you caught up on November. Mom and Dad gave us tickets to a Thunder game on Nov. 23 so we decided to make a weekend of it and do some Christmas shopping while we were in OKC. It worked out great, and I am happy to say that we are 95% done with gift buying and wrapping, which NEVER happens this early. Kyle didn't love the shopping trip but it was bearable for him since we spent some time in the toy aisle.

We left Oliver with Mom and Dad and when we got back they told us he threw up twice while we were gone. He was acting kind of strange but we thought maybe it was just the unfamiliar environment. Unfortunately he didn't get better when we got him home, and the next day he threw up twice in his crate as well as a few times outside. So we took him to the vet. Kyle asked me to meet him there so I could take Oliver home and he could go back to work. Turns out that was pointless since the vet ended up recommending they hospitalize him for 24 hours to be sure he was monitored and kept down the meds he needed. They decided he must have eaten something he shouldn't have in Mom and Dad's backyard. I was completely shocked and never dreamed they would keep him, but I was on board if that's what he needed (and if it meant no more cleaning up after him). We agreed but leaving him there when he was fighting to follow us was so much harder than I expected. Fortunately they called the next morning with good news and we got to bring him home that afternoon. He was sluggish for the next few days but was back to his regular self by the end of the week, just in time for Thanksgiving.

The poor guy on our way home from Hennessey.

It was our year to be in Hennessey for Thanksgiving so we got together with the extended Taylor family over at Terry and Cheryl's. It was good to see everyone and the older kids played together so well. You barely knew they were there. After some turkey and football we headed to Mom and Dad's to decorate for Christmas. Stacy got sick that night and Kyle followed suit a few days after so we ended the month with lots of couch time and cuddles with the pup. Hopefully this next round will be over soon and Kyle will feel better in the morning.

Kyle always ends up in the living room with the kiddos.

Quinn is obsessed with phones. Any time you have one, she wants it.

Asher found his nativity from last year.

Next year these two will have a little girl cousin to play with. Tyrus and Lisa found out they are having a girl!

Asher was much more brave about the star this year and insisted on doing it himself. He just needed a boost from Grandpa.

Oliver is allowed on the ottoman if it is covered with a blanket but he is mostly on the couch here. Good thing he's cute and gets away with it.

Really?!

Even I got in on the cuddle action when I got my sinus infection.
