Thanksgiving

Image
Monday was my first day back to work after a much needed (and much enjoyed) vacation! Kyle and I had a great time, and I'm so excited to share some fun photos/stories from our trip. That is still in the works though, so for tonight, I'll just leave you with a little of our Thanksgiving. We were fortunate to get to share time with both families Thanksgiving weekend. We have so much to be grateful for, but here are just a few things that came to mind while we were indulging in a little turkey and pumpkin pie. 1. Togetherness. Not everyone gets to be with their loved ones on holidays and we don't take our time together for granted. 2. The way Asher says Uncle Kyle and wants to play the second we walk in the door. 3. Football. (for Kyle anyway...naps are more my style) 4. Conversations around the dinner table or the newly decorated Christmas tree.     5. The craziness that is the holiday season. 6. Conner's smiles. 7. Missing our extended...

God Gave Me You

Image
Today Kyle and I have been married for 3 years! It doesn’t seem like our wedding was that long ago. Although I can barely remember what life was like before Sept. 2, 2004, when we met for the first time. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful partner in life. We are different in MANY ways, but we are better together than we would be on our own. We might have our disagreements but there is no one I'd rather endure Oklahoma earthquakes with. :) We've a few of those over the past couple of days.  I was so excited to get these today. It was just what I needed on a rainy day. Kyle is taking me to Sushi House tonight when we both get off work. Then, in about week, we are off to Estes Park for an anniversary trip! I am very excited because this will be our first trip alone since our honeymoon. It's about a 12 hour drive, so we will definitely have plenty of quality time together! Not to mention our cabin has a private hot tub! Life can’t get any better. I know you are a...

Little Blessings

Image
On Monday Tony Blair was giving a speech at OSU and I decided to go. It was a fun experience. Compared to his resume, Kyle and I have an extremely ordinary life. It’s valuable but small (as Meg Ryan might put it). I know that our future will bring many wonderful and challenging things, but for the time being, I am happy to have the life we have. We are showered with little blessings and below are just a few of them: 1. Stillwater – I never thought Kyle and I would live in Stillwater for the long haul. We met here in September of my freshman year at OSU. It was a somewhat blind date because even though we’d been talking on the phone for about a month, I’d never even seen a picture of him. That was before the days when everyone had a Facebook page. I always knew this town would have meaning to me because of the time I had planned to spend here, but when I got a job at the Foundation, I began to realize that this is where Kyle and I would make our home. It’s a great place for us and has...

Everyone's Busy

Image
As one of my not so kind or subtle coworkers reminded me yesterday, this is a busy time for everyone. I thought it was just me, but now I remember that there is a little thing called OSU Homecoming today, so everyone's busy. Thank goodness she relayed that information, or I would have been completely in the dark. :) As you can tell, I'm not quite over it, but we've moving on... I know we are all busy living life because my blogroll has been pretty pathetic lately. I’m always excited for 5 p.m. to roll around so I can check my blogs and see what everyone has been up to, but lately there are few if any updates waiting on me. If only more of my friends would blog, but that’s a post for another day. Since Halloween is now only days away, I thought I’d share some fun photos/videos from the annual Taylor Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza. (I came up with that name so maybe Kyle and Zach will be excited about it next year. I’m not holding my breath.) Enjoy! I will post Homecoming ...

Fall Favorites

Image
I was telling Asher my favorite season is fall this past weekend. He said, “What’s season?” So I explained it to him what a season was. To my surprise, he actually remembered later that day when we were telling Mom all about it. It’s so fun to see how his mind works. So here is a little glimpse into how my mind works and 10 reasons why fall is my absolute favorite: 1. Changing Leaves 2. Cozy Sweaters 3. Halloween 4. Football Season 5. Heated Seats 6. Cinnamon Cider Scentsy 7. Hot Chocolate 8. Pumpkins 9. Boots 10. Frosty Mornings This past weekend we carved pumpkins with the Taylor clan and made big anniversary plans! Stay tuned for posts on both.

Brad's Visit and Conner's Dedication

Image
The past couple of months there has been a lot going on in the Fox family. I love this because it means we are making an effort to get together more frequently, which is so much fun! Kyle's brother, Brad, is in the military and is spending a year overseas. This is his second deployment and we were so glad to hear that he was going to be able to come home for a few weeks in September. It was a short trip, but while he was here, the whole family got together at Grandma and Grandpa Fox's house. This visit was Brad's first opportunity to meet Conner. Here are a few of the photos. Brad and Conner Greg surprised us with a new haircut. He'd just gotten back from a biker trip, Can you tell?  No one can make Conner smile like Papa! He got a little too excited, though, and ended up peeing on poor Stacie. That's good training for her!  Somehow Kyle ended up with a rabbit on his head. You never know what's going to happen when you're with the Foxe...

Asher Turns 2!

Image
I can’t believe this is possible, but after the marathon posting from last week, I still have catching up to do. That will have to wait for another day, though, because this past weekend Asher turned 2! We celebrated with a family party on Oct. 2 (the actual day of his birth) at Mom and Dad's house. Stacy did such a great job planning the party. This year's theme was horses because Asher LOVES horses. I had such a great time at the party and felt so blessed to be an aunt not only to this little guy, but also to Conner and soon-to-be-born Henry. Family is everything to me, and it's so special to get to spend time with the ones I love. Below are some pictures that pretty much sum up the day. The party invite!    This is a bad picture, but I was trying to get all of the decorations. We were in charge of bringing balloons, and yes, that is a big horse balloon. Asher loved it!   This poster had a picture of Asher from each month of ...
