The Stuffingless Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Fox family this year. The plan was to meet in Mulvane, but then Greg and Stacie bought a house in the country near Rose Hill, so we moved the party there. I kept checking-in to make sure they still wanted to host, considering they weren't actually moving in until the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, but Stacie assured me they still wanted us to come. Unlike me, she is a natural hostess and she rolls with the punches, not letting little (or big) things stand in her way. How I envy that about her...

It was a great time. We got a tour of the new house, played with the boys and the guys even did a little shooting while the girls put the finishing touches on the meal. There was one tragic mishap, though. The stuffing never made it to the table. In all the excitement and commotion, Stacie forgot to make it. We gave her a hard time the rest of the night, saying Thanksgiving just isn't the same without stuffing and how that's what we WERE going to be most thankful for, etc. (The Fox family is very good at giving each other a hard time. It's one of their most endearing qualities.) But at the end of the day, we didn't need dressing to make Thanksgiving wonderful. We still left with bellies full of food and hearts stuffed with gratefulness for the wonderful blessings we enjoy on a daily basis. I hope your Thanksgiving was a great one and you took some time to reflect on all the things that make this life sweet. God is good.

Getting all set up.

It took Kyle a little bit to get the hang of it, but he shot 10 clay pigeons in a row before the end of the day!

Stacie was a really good shot.

Then I gave it a try and it didn't go so well! :)

The little boys were very curious about the loud noise the big boys were making outside.

Henry and Conner loved going up and down these stairs with cars in their hands. It about gave the rest of us a heart attack, though.

 Yay for selfies!

Conner wasn't hungry, so the men took turns eating with Henry.

Kyle's critique of our cooking.

They are such ornery little cuties!

That turkey will do it to you every time!

Such handsome men!

And this is what happens when the girls try to take a picture.
